For several years Treluxe has been my holy grail brand! It’s the one I can always rely on to give consistent results and in 2023 they came out with several new products to add to their already amazing collection. It really was the year of Treluxe!

Curl Renew & Restore Gentle Cleansing Rinse

This was the first “non drug store product” that I used and I remember debating for weeks whether to purchase it or not. I was so worried about spending more than £7 on a shampoo and it not working like so many others. From the first moment I used it, I fell in love! Its moisturising but not overly so. It lathers well, especially on the second round and gives a thorough cleaning without stripping the moisture from your scalp.

Soothe & Restore Aloe Vera Curl Primer

The Aloe Vera Curl Primer was one of the 2023 releases and there isn’t another product like it on the market. It’s multifunctional and can be used in so many ways.

• As a pre shampoo product to help detangle

• During the washing process to help detangle. I have also used it in replace of conditioner completely.

• As a base before applying your stylers

• As a refresh product

The slip that this primer provides is unmatched meaning that stubborn tangles are a thing of the past. When used during your styling routine it provides moisture, helps with clumping and speeds up drying time.

Soothe & Restore Restorative Protein Mask

The Restorative Protein Mask was the last release of 2023 and the perfect addition to the Treluxe line up. It is a wonderfully light mask that is perfect for coloured or damaged hair that needs a pick me up of protein.

It contains Quinoa with 9 essential amino acids that work to strengthen, restore, heal, and repair your hair strands leaving you with soft, touchable curls that have the strength that fine hair craves. I personally use it in two ways, either like a normal daily conditioner where I apply it, detangle and rinse it straight out. Or on days where I need more of a boost I will leave it in for 5-10 minutes before rinsing. (Those with a coarser hair texture can leave it on for up to 30 minutes)

Reflex Curl Styling Serum

If definition is the aim of your game then the Reflex Serum definitely needs to be in your line up. It is extremely lightweight with a light hold. Ideally you would apply this first to soaking wet hair and then layer the Curl Defining Mousse or the Hi! Definition Gel on top.

Reflex is going to enhance your definition and help to fight frizz all whilst not sacrificing your volume. It also makes for an amazing refresh styler due to how lightweight it is. Simply smooth some over your day two or three curls with wet hands and you’re good to go. The protein in it really helps your curls to bounce back up.

Soothe & Restore Curl Defining Mousse

Typically mousses and foams have a very light hold but let me tell you, the first time I tried the Curl Defining Mousse I was blown away by the amount of hold it has. To this day it is the only mousse that I can use as a single styler and still get 4 days of curls with no refreshing. I have no idea what magic is in this bottle but its insane!

Like with many mousses, it is lightweight with a foam consistency, so perfect for those with fine hair who love their volume. All of the Treluxe stylers are very concentrated and a little goes a long way and this is no exception. You only need a small amount! You will know if you’ve used too much as it will foam up in your hair! (If this does happen simply grab a bowl with some water and dunk your hair in it and squish. This will remove some of the product for you!) If you don’t want to use this as a single styler you can layer either the Reflex Serum or Hi! Definition Gel on top for an extra pop of definition.

Hi! Definition Curl Enhancer Styling Gel

I have quite literally saved the best for last! At the same time that I brought the Curl Renew & Restore and had my panic about spending money, I also brought the Hi! Definition Gel as I had heard so many amazing reviews both from people with fine and coarse hair. I still remember that first wash with it! I applied it to soaking wet hair and instantly had that seaweed feeling that we all constantly chase! Sometimes with new products, there is a learning curve and it can take us a few goes to get the right amount or the right amount of water to apply it to, but there was no learning curve with this gel. It worked from the get go and hasn’t let down since.

It has a medium to hard hold and is very lightweight. It is also very concentrated like their other stylers so a small amount will take you far. If you get white flakes, you’ve used too much! In 2023 they also released a fragrance free option which is great for those who are scent sensitive.
