Hair Loss? These Are Shampoos You Need!

We all know that when you’re suffering from hair loss a shampoo isn’t going to rectify it alone but using the right shampoos can help alongside a comprehensive hair loss routine! Cleansing your hair and scalp is the basis of your wash routine so if you can get this part right, you’re off to a great start. Improper cleansing means that not only are your hair follicles going to become clogged and struggle but none of your other washday treatments and products will be able to work effectively.

Scalp care is the most important part of hair care. Your scalp is the soil and an unhealthy scalp is never going to grow healthy hair or hold onto your hair that is already there! Washing several times a week and double shampooing aré important so let’s talk about what you should be cleansing with and how they will help in rectifying your hair loss and growing new, healthy hair.

Nizoral Treatment Shampoo –

Nizoral treatment shampoo 1

Nizoral Treatment Shampoo containing 2% Ketoconazole is going to help block the hair loss hormone DHT that is excreted in the sebum and builds up on your scalp. DHT is one of the leading causes of excessive hair shedding so by blocking this you are keeping your hair where we want it, on your scalp! Now it can be very drying so only use this twice a week and follow up with your regular shampoo of choice. Remember though to leave it on for 3-5 minutes before rinsing to allow the active ingredients to work. There is a 1% ketoconazole option available but this isn’t as effective so opt for the 2%.

L’Oreal Elvive Growth Booster –

The L’Oréal Elvive Growth Booster Shampoo contains Aminexil which is a chemical compound used in products to help reduce hair loss by reinforcing the collagen around the follicles and anchoring the hair, preventing it from falling out early. It is said that Aminexil can also reduce follicle scaring and enhances nutrient and oxygen delivery to the scalp. Aim to use 1-2 times a week.

Caffeine Shampoo –

I’m currently using the Mancave Caffeine Shampoo but there are numerous ones on the market and the choice is completely personal preference but the important part is the caffeine! This helps to stimulate the scalp and therefore encourages hair growth by increasing the blood flow to the follicles. Delivering oxygen and nutrients is vital not only for follicle health but also for removing waste products and can even activate dormant hair follicles, promoting thicker hair.

Dense Hair Experts Daily Densify 2 in 1 Shampoo

Now, I know exactly what you’re thinking. A 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner will never work for curly hair. I know because I thought the same thing but I can honestly say that this thoroughly cleanses the hair and scalp but also detangles and moisturises at the same time. I did a wash in real time on Instagram because I knew so many would be dubious.

This cleanser is amazing. It stimulates circulation and supports your scalp health. Reduces breakage and blocks DHT whilst containing ingredients such as Nicinamide, Hydrolysed Soy Protein, Turmeric and Zinc. Just ensure that you leave it on for 5 minutes so that the active ingredients can get to work. Discount code LIANE25 saves you 25% across the Dense Hair Experts website.

K18 Damage Shield –

Whilst it is true that a shampoo that helps to repair hair is not going to prevent hair shedding or stimulate new growth, these types of shampoos, for example from K18 or Olaplex, are needed in our hair loss routines as they help to prevent breakage. When you’re already loosing hair, breakage just means more hair loss, which means more stress and more upset. Ideally, you would incorporate this into your routine once a week. I personally love K18 and all of their products contain the K18PEPTIDE. This is their patented, bio-active peptide that penetrates into the hair fibre to repair broken keratin chains, reversing damage at a molecular level.

All 5 of these shampoos are in my rotation throughout the week and they all have their perfect little place and reason for being there! Do you focus on certain shampoos in your hair growth routine?
